UKA MEDALS & TEACHING COURSES

At the last United Kingdom Alliance (UKA) medal exam hosted by Salsanorthwest, 86 medal exams were sat by students and EVERYONE PASSED!

Our next UKA medal exam date is Sunday 26th February 2012 from 6.00pm
Bamber Bridge Catholic Club, Bamber Bridge, PR5 6TL

The UKA is a professional body that governs Latin American, Ballroom and now Salsa. They provide a system where salsa dancers can be examined and awarded medals and diplomas for their dancing. The UKA also provide examinations for potential teachers, so please speak to Phil 07899866408 if this is something you would be interested in, Salsanorthwest run teacher courses throughout the year and we have a clean pass record!

What level do you need to be to take medals?
There are 4 levels when you start to take your UKA medals, Bronze, Silver, Gold and beyond Gold, all the way to Gold Cup. As you’d imagine Bronze is the entry level medal, Silver for intermediate dancers, and Gold medals are for advanced dancers. The higher the level the harder the exam and the more emphasis placed on the way the dancer moves and presents their style and footwork.

Give the exam a go, you'll be surprised at how proficient a dancer you really are, and how highly the UKA will award you for your dancing, yes the majority of us are social dancers, but we're pretty good at it!

If you would like to find out more about the exam, visit one of Phils classes, or give Phil a call to arrange a revision session.

You are permitted to take up to 2 levels within one exam but must begin at Bronze level, therefore if you have no UKA medals to date you could sit Bronze on its own, or Bronze and Silver, if you already have Bronze, you may sit Silver or Silver and Gold together.
