Most of our parties are on the 3rd or 4th Saturday of each month. Beginner students are very welcome, parties are the best place to get to know us and your fellow class mates a little better. We look forward to seeing you on our dance floor soon!

My Home Town (MHT) UK is a not for profit company, www.myhometown-uk.co.uk limited by guarantee. It was registered on the 14th October 2009, company number 7041944.
Our Mission Statement is: To enhance community development through skill sharing and development of member skills, which in turn will support community development projects in the UK, Choma (Zambia) and around the world.
Current Projects we are attempting to help in Choma, Zambia
While a number of MHT-UK members were visiting Zambia, we visited a hospital and Jack and Jill pre-school in Choma. The conditions in the hospital are not good and there is a shortage of vital equipment and facilities. We have collected various items for the hospital, including 500 Maternity Packs, which include vital things for newborn babies and their mothers, such as clothes, nappies and blankets etc.
Jack and Jill pre-school is run by Exhilda, who started the school in 1997, after the death of her parents. She started small and charged a nominal fee per week for each child. However, increasingly she would have children attending whose parents could not afford to pay and the school has expanded rapidly, with most children attending free, some of whom are orphans and would have nowhere else to go.
Exhilda funds these children through help from other family members, rearing chickens, creating a “village cinema” with donated VCR and videos and other initiatives.
MHT-UK have collected computers, vital school equipment and tonnes of clothes and toys.
As a result of MHT-UK efforts we have managed to collect enough items to fill a 20 foot container, which are being stored in a MHT-UK board members garage.
We need to ship these items as soon as possible, as they could perish if they are left in a garage for much longer.
We are therefore looking for urgent financial help to ship these items.
We have secured £625 so far but the cost of a container is estimated at around £6500, including customs clearance etc. We have arranged that MHT Choma in Zambia will act as our agent to collect this container and ensure that all the donations get to the people that that they are intended for.
